Song of the day: Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go ON

Welcome to my very last blog post of 2021! This year has been a pretty great year for me personally. Even though there were so many difficulties this year, I feel like I've grown so much as a person, and I've done so much fun stuff this year. Case in point: this site! I feel like I've talked about this elsewhere, but even though I created my Neocities account (and thus, this site) in January of 2020 (hence the established date on my home-page), I only started working on it at the very beginning of this year. (I believe the first proper version of my homepage I did was on the third of January.) So I'm nearing a year of fully working on my Web site, which is cool and kind of mind-boggling! I feel like it's been so long and yet not that long at all.

Honestly, I feel like this has been such an amazing year for me as a person, regardless of what's been going on in the world around me. This year has shaped me in a huge way. (Ugh, am I really getting emotional over a year ending?) Anyways, this past year has been very influential for me and I'm excited and intrigued to see what next year has in store. :)

I could say so much about the good and the bad that's happened this year, but I'm honestly kind of speechless. (Does it count as speechless if I'm typing this?) But I guess I want to thank everyone who enjoys my site and all of the cool Internet people I've talked with this year, on Neocities and elsewhere, and everybody in the Neocities community for being so friendly, welcoming, and just all-around cool. :D

Anyways, that's about all I have to talk about, so I'll talk to you all next time. Bye!

Song of the day: Mandy Moore - Candy

Today was so cool! This morning, my mum went out to a movie, so I sat around playing my Switch for a few hours. And then, at around 2:00, we went to have a big mall shopping spree! First, we hit up Vintage Stock, my favourite CD/DVD/games store, and Gamestop. I got season 8 of Murder, She Wrote on DVD and Super Mario Odyssey at Vintage Stock, and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee from Gamestop. (I walk between the two comparing prices.) Also, I remember seeing Super Mario 3D All Stars at one of them last time I went to the mall, but it wasn't there. Oh well, I'm sure another copy will turn up eventually. God willing, they'll price it reasonably.

Anyways, we also swung by Target, where I got an Animal Crossing-themed case for my Switch, which holds 8 game cards as well. And of course, they already had the Valentine's Day candy out. The twelve days of Christmas aren't even done yet! But there was still some Christmas stuff on clearance. Anyways, half of the area-formerly-known-as-the-Christmas-section was weirdly empty, with basically nothing on the shelves, which gave me flashbacks to those photos that were going around back when Target Canada closed down. Anyways, I also power-walked across about half the store to get to the Switch section to get the case, because my mother was very clear that that was the only thing we were going to get from Target. Spoiler alert: it wasn't; she got some trinket as well.

Anyways, for some reason wallking through the mall reminded me of one of those little spoken interludes on Britney Spears's Oops!...I Did It Again album where Britney is talking with her friends but then they see some cute guy who they then gush over, because I saw this one cute guy as I walked by the Sleepnumber store, and there was another that I passed at one point and made eye contact with. Do with this information what you will.

Anyways, we finished off at Barnes & Noble. I looked for a couple specific books that I didn't find, but I did get yet another Murder, She Wrote book and a book from Peter Ackroyd's History of England series/anthology/whatever. Then, we got some ice cream on the way home with a coupon. So overall, it was a pretty nice day.

Anyways, that's about all I have to talk about, so I'll talk to you all next time. Bye!

Song of the day: VERIVERY - Love At First Sight

Happy Boxing Day! So First, let me dish out some (but not all) of the gifts I got.

  1. More Murder, She Wrote novels
  2. A crapton of Ringpops
  3. Money and giftcards
  4. Money and giftcards
  5. Calendars and stickers
  6. A soap bar my grandma meant to give to me a Christmas or two ago
  7. An electric kettle
  8. and last but CERTAINLY not least: A Nintendo Switch Lite and a copy of Splatoon 2. Woot woot! I've wanted one of these for so long!

So yeah, that was pretty cool. Also, my parents and I spent last night at my grandma's. Because of the lack of spare beds that didn't have stuff on them, we slept on the couch and recliners. Actually, the recliner wasn't too bad once I curled up with a pillow. (I can see why my grandpa loves sleeping on that recliner.) Speaking of, I had to listen to my dad and grandpa snoring simultaneously. Oy. At least I didn't have to sleep on my grandparent's mattress, which I'm pretty sure is older than me.

Also, my mother took my grandpa's truck down to one of his fields (he's a farmer) and I got some more driving lessons. I got the hang of shifting, and I did well for the most part! (Though I'm still getting the hang of letting off the clutch when starting the car - it's a manual.) My grandpa's truck has finnicky brakes, though, and the clutch was finnicky, too, though I don't know if it was the truck's fault or mine because I literally don't know how to properly drive yet. Also, this afternoon I got to shift into reverse instead of just first and second (and third a couple of times by accident), but I normally take it a bit fast when starting from a stop, which doesn't translate well when you're in reverse. So yeah, that was a bit startling. My cousin also demanded to ride in the bed of the pickup truck, and my uncle obliged him without our permission. He complained a couple of times when it started to sprinkle (I suppose he lacks some amount of foresight there - he's nine) and made one snide remark that "maybe (my mother's name) should be driving". Oy.

Also, my cousin (the same nine-year-old one) and his siblings (seven and three) have so much combined energy, I don't know how my grandparents deal with them. (My aunt and uncle both work, so my grandparents take care of them after school until they get home.) My youngest cousin played repeated games of hide and seek with my mother (in which he pretty much immediately shotued out where he was hiding - we all got a kick out of that) and that kind of stuff. Seriously, you'd think they were constantly drinking pure caffeine and sugar! They also get on each others' nerves often, but I'm assuming that's natural for siblings their age. Anyways, I love them, but being with them for prolonged amounts of time (read: more than a couple hours) can be quite the tiring experience.

Anyways, that's about all I have to talk about, so I'll talk to you all next time. Bye!

Song of the day: Unknown - Joy to the World

Happy Christmas Eve! I’m writing this on my phone at my grandparents’ house, watching Shark Tank because I’ve moving better to do. I still have more Christmas to do, but here’s what I’ve gotten so far.

  1. Three Murder, She Wrote novels
  2. A crapton of Smarties
  3. And fifty dollars

But we’ll see what tomorrow has in store. Anyways, I’m pretty much recovered from my illness now! Also, on the Shark Tank that I’m watching, a freaking family just showed up with like 10 year old kids. Also, there’s this eccentric (and also definitely gay) man called “The Real Elf” that’s on as well selling online greetings. It’s really freaking weird. But I suppose with the nature of Shark Tank, they get a lot of odd propositions.

Also, the weather is still weirdly warm. According to a local meteorologist, it’s not necessarily because of climate change (thank God), and is because we’re just getting a lot of southern winds this year.

Anyways, it’s getting late and I’m excited for tomorrow, so I’m going to head off to bed. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Song of the day: Hilary Duff - Why Not (McMix)

So, thank God, I'm feeling quite a bit better than I was two days ago. I spent more time watching TV and just generally recovering. I'm not 100% back to normal, but apparently your digestive system can be off for a few days after recovering from the ctomach flu, so that's probably why. Anyways, I was able to eat almost all of my normal McDonald's meal today, so that's good! But the recovery process is still kind of annoying, especially as I'm traditionally pretty healthy, and I only get properly ill every few years.

Also, I've been binge-reading some more TV Tropes today! It's like Wikipedia, but about media and with humour. Wikipedia really should have more humour. Also, I'm watching The Lizzie McGuire Movie right now because it's a really great movie. Whilst some people (like my parents) watch Spider Man, I watch Lizzie McGuire. I'm so QuIrKy!

Anyways, it's about to be Christmas time! And my family forgot to buy presents for my little cousins. Oy. Anyways, we'll have to go try and find something at Target. If my little cousins are reading this in the future, don't hate us! Anyways, we'll get something,

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

20-12-2021 - 10:10 PM

Song of the day: Girls' Generation and Super Junior - SEOUL

So this blog post is going to be a bit shorter than the others because... I'm recovering from a stomach bug! *trumpets*

Seriously. It wasn't really fun. But at least I got to catch up on TV reruns! Over the past two days, I spent the better part of twenty-four hours parked on the couch, lying down and watching the TV. I watched all the classics, like Mama's Family, The Golden Girls, The Facts of Life, and also Friends and Bewitched while I was waiting for Facts of Life to come on. Who knew Nick@Nite was on at 7:30 AM?

Also, conincidentally, today was when I had my doctor's appointment. And also when my symptoms let up. A bit odd? Anyways, I still have some remnants of sick brain, and I'm getting hungry, so I'm going to go now.

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

18-12-2021 - 9:57 PM

Song of the day: Debbie Gibson - We Could Be Together

Happy 1 week until Christmas! I'm really excited! I wonder what I'll get? Apparently my big gift from my parents is going to arrive a bit yet, but we'll see. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out what to give some family members. I came up with a really good idea for my grandpa on one side, but I don't know about my grandma on that side. (Seriously, my grandparents really don't need that much.) I remember my grandma used to like this singer on American Idol, so I asked her for his name because I thought about getting her one of his CDs, but she said she forgot his name so either she doesn't like him anymore, or I didn't do good enough a job describing him as "that guy on American Idol you liked... the one with the long hair". Oh well, back to the drawing board. maybe I'll get her some novelty from Cracker Barrel. Who knows?

Also, finals are over! I've gotten back three and a half exam grades out of six. I don't know French, I got a 97 in Latin, I got a 93 on my bio unit exam, I don't know precalc, I got a 41/45 on the multiple choice/short answer portion of my Human Geo exam (apparently the highest of my class! Also, he hadn't graded our free response questions yet when I checked in), I got a 96 on my English final, and I got a 100% on my Current Events final paper. So yeah, I think that that's pretty good form what I know so far of my results! So we'll see how I did on my others. Here's hoping I did well!

Also, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my holiday. I'll probably play Minecraft and work on my site for most of it. (hopefully I can get around to finishing my Verivery concert page!) I would write something but I have no ideas. Oh well! I'll probably also go on a fanfiction binge or something at one point, knowing me. Anyways, I'm excited! It's like a wide-open journal for me to fill in. :)

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

16-12-2021 - 10:04 PM

Song of the day: Debbie Gibson - Christmas Star

So I only have one final left! I just need to finish my English essay outline and briefly review my vocab, and then I should be good to go. Luckily, the portion about the themes is going to be multiple choice, so I won't be able to completely screw up by pulling something out of my behind. Honestly, I feel like even my Human Geo final went well! Although I was the first one to turn in my precalc final, which made me kind of nervous. But oh well! It's done now, and I won't know what I've got until it's graded.

Also, the weirdest thing happened to me the other day. So it was Tuesday, I believe, after school, and my mother and I stopped off at the mall for a few minutes before going home. And then on the way home, in the lane next to us was this stereotypical bland SUV. I heard poodle-esque barking, so I thought there was a dog, but no. Of course not. There was a stareotypical white teenage boy in the back barking out the window at me and cracking up, and another stereotypical white teenage boy in the front seat who was absolutely losing it, and not really keeping his eyes on the road. This continued for pretty much the whole time we were next to them. Ugh. But, what are you gonna do?

So, all in all, I'm just hoping to do well tomorrow. Then, I'll finally have some real time off to sit around, do nothing, and listen to even more Verivery! I'm excited and relieved!

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

Song of the day: Verivery - With Us

So I'll talk more about finals next time, because right now I'm talking about Verivery! I got to see their tour on Sunday night, and It. Was. Amazing!

So my parents and I went to St. Louis for their tour date, and it was such an amazing experience! Before the concert, we went to Beyond Van Gogh, an immersive exhibit of Van Gogh's paintings. Some of the portraits blinked. It was freaky. I also got to briefly step inside the Macy's at the Galeria, which was the biggest Macy's I've ever seen. Like, wow! The escalator going from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor was broken, so I was freaked out climbing back down.

But that's not the point! The point is: I GOT TO SEE VERIVERY! We got into the queue at about 5:45 PM (though there were some that got into the queue at 5:45 AM, I'm sure) and stood around for a few minutes. We were delayed a few minutes getting into the venue because they had a technical issue, but oh well. The merch stand was open before the show, so I got a hoodie, a t-shirt, a long-sleeve shirt, and a tote bag, plus three free photocards because of the amount I spent. And soon enough, the show started!

The setlist was so amazing. (This is the part where, if you want to see one of the remaining dates and don't want spoilers, you should skip this paragraph.) They performed their cover of Christmas Lights, which was amazing! Also, this concert made me realize how much I've been sleeping on With Us. So y'all can bet that that's been on repeat on my iTunes and iPod these past few days. Also, the English version of Ring Ring Ring was so amazing, even though nobody knew the English lyrics. Oh well! And the vocal and dance lines' special covers were so amazing! The vocal line sang The Climb from the Hannah Montana Movie, which threw me back to me Hannah Montana phase circa age 10.

Also, the Q&A section was freaking wild. They danced to Baby Shark and sang Let It Go, the latter of which my mother got a huge kick out of. Also, when Hoyoung was asked what kind of animal he wanted to be he said: "Jellyfish, because I love my company!" Also, at one point, they were asking what's famous in St. Louis, and pretty much the whole crowd ended up shouting "ARCH! ARCH!" while making arch shapes with our hands, which was pretty ridiculous out of context.

Also, one of the biggest parts of the concert for me was that DONGHEON WAVED AT ME. Woo! The pessimist in me says that he was waving at someone else near me, but the optimist in me says SCREW THAT, I GOT WAVED AT! Anyways, sadly, I didn't get the meet and greet, but nonetheless, it was such an amzing night. And since it was in a smaller venue, everything was super intimate. Even though I was in the back, I was still close to the stage. Anyways, I'm so excited for their next tour! I'm hoping and praying they come back to St. Louis! Apparently they're the first ever k-pop group to perform in St. Louis, which is super cool!

Anyways, to sum it up: THE WHOLE NIGHT WAS SO AMAZING!!!

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye! Talk to y'all next time!

10-12-2021 - 10:05 PM

Song of the day: Verivery - Ring Ring Ring (English Ver)

So this will be my last blog post before finals week starts. Why won't I be posting on Sunday? BECAUSE I'M GOING TO SEE VERIVERY IN CONCERT!!!!!!!!! For those of y'all who don't know, Verivery are having their first US tour currently, and I get to see them Sunday night! I'm definitely going to spend the car ride and the time we spend waiting in the queue to get in studying, though. But thankfully, my first final is on Tuesday, not Monday, and it's not Human Geo. Seriously. At least there's only 1 or 2 FRQs (Free response questions) and no short answers on the Human Geo final. (most of it's multiple choice.)

Also, in my Latin class, we play this game called Gimkit a lot. It's kind of like Kahoot or Quizlet Live in that you answer terms/study questions and that kind of stuff, but Gimkit has different game modes. You answer randomized questions from the set at your own rate, which gives you money/points depending on the game mode, and you can use those for different powerups and things depending on the game mode. Anyways, they added a new mode recently called Fishtopia, where you get bait from earning questions, which you can use to fish for fish worth different amounts, and then you sell fish to get money to get powerups which help you get better fish, etc. We only played it once, because my Latin teacher insisted that we play it before the holiday break in case they remove it before we get back. (Gimkit cycles through most of their more "special" modes, with the consistent ones being the more vanilla ones.) Anyways, it was super relaxing! 11/10 would recommend.

Also, I had a precalc poster due this morning. We had all of yesterday to work on it. We had a sub because my precalc teacher just left five minutes into class. She was gone again today, so I hope she's alright! Anyway, we started it around the beginning of this week I believe. (time is blurring together!!) Anyways, it was very nice, especially because my partner is one of those people whose always drawing in their notebook or whatever, so it had a rather cool design. We did kill three sharpies between us though: my partner killed two whilst making titles and all that, and I killed one whilst colouring in a Union Jack. (Our poster was graphing the United Kingdom's population and finding a model to fit that, and all that jazz.)

Also, I have resolved to NEVER take AP US History. I didn't like normal US History in the first place as it was with the same teacher I've had for World History last year and AP Human Geo this year, but still. (Fun fact: my US History class is the only class I've come close to falling asleep in!) Anyways, one of the loud, rambunctious boys who sits next to me in precalc was complaining about his AP US History paper. Also, I just think US History is a rather boring subject post 1776. (I think Japanese and especially British history, amongst others, are much more interesting myself.) I have often said that I only want to do AP classes in subjects I enjoy (the only reason I have AP Human Geo is because I guess it's a mandatory starter AP at my school), so I would never do an AP Human Geo. I do plan on doing AP Latin and French, though! Though my Latin teacher has told us that the AP graders for Latin are very picky about wording, but oh well.

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye! Talk to y'all after I see VERIVERY!!

8-12-2021 - 10:31 PM

Song of the day: Miley Cyrus - The Climb

So my Socratic Seminar was today, and it actually went pretty well! And of course, I references both the TV programme Perfect Strangers, and the Miley Cyrus song The Climb. We also got cocoa and some other treats from our teacher! Also, I've started to study for finals at last. I've. done some English tonight, and made a plan for what I need to do for precalc. And of course, of all my subjects with proper finals exams, Human Geo is the only one without any form of study guide other than the teacher saying that "it'll be over the first three chapters." Oy.

Also, I'm starting to get into the holly jolly spirit. My mother bought an inflatable corgi decoration that we put out front, which I have yet to name. Perhaps Evie, in honour of the Eevee on my home page? Who knows? I think Stephanie or Scottie might be a nice name. (I just love the irony on that last one :D)

Also, my mother found a book at the library called Macbeth #killingit and borrowed it for me. It's the story of Macbeth, but told through emojis and social media posts. It reminded me of Beowulf: A New Translation by Maria Headley, which my English teacher read excerpts from last year when we did Beowulf. Basically, Beowulf: A New Translation is a memeish translation of Beowulf. Anyways, the Macbeth one, from what I've read, is funny at parts but mostly just pretty odd. I do recommend that Beowulf meme translation, though.

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

6-12-2021 - 10:13 PM

Song of the day: Joey Lawrence - Nothin' My Love Can't Fix

Ho boy, is this week annoying! In addition to a precalc project due on Friday, I have Human Geo reading to do. Because even in precalc, we have a study guide and have started to talk about our final. (The only classes we haven't done that for are Human Geo and Bio, and for bio we have a test over mitosis instead of a final.) Because, of course, Human Geo can never ever be an easy, fun, relaxing class. Ugh.

Also, recently I've been watching a lot of storytime YouTube videos from years ago. It's honestly a super addictive format. I have had a few weird things happen to me in my day, but listening to these I've had nowhere near as many weird experiences as these people. I kind of want to have a storytime channel on YouTube or Bitview or something, though, because it seems like such a fun, relaxing type of content to create. Though, in my mother's words, my family is kind of boring. Oh well. I'm sure something weird and wacky will happen to me soon.

Also, somehow I'm maybe 2/3 to 3/4 done with my Socratic Seminar! Plus, I'll have tomorrow's period to work and all, and then tomorrow night to do finishing touches. And then it's on to studying for finals. Final-ly! (ha)

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

4-12-2021 - 10:10 PM

Song of the day: Girls' Generation - Mr. Mr.

I am so dreading this week. I have an English Socratic Seminar on Wednesday that I've written like two thirds of a paragraph out of the three long-ish paragraph I have to write. I am absolutely so nervous and I hope that I'll do well. Also, it's my last week before finals, so I need to start studying. Were finals always this nerve-wracking? Also, we haven't even started talking about our Human Geo final. And according to our teacher, anything shorter than the FREAKING AP EXAM isn't called a test. So let's hope the Human Geo final isn't some sort of Sisyphus situation.

Also, our TV is acting weird again. This time, instead of the Tivo deleting everything, the picture is just kind of cropped. I was trying to play Splatoon on my Wii U and it was weirdly cropped in, so we tried to unplug the HDMI and plug it in again, which made it almost normal but not quite. So that was annoying. It seems like techonology just wants to be annoying over the past couple of days. Yesterday, my mouse and keyboard didn't work before school and I had to restart my iMac, which was also annoying. Oy.

Also, I think the final warm spurt for the weather this year is about to end. The high tomorrow is 18 degrees, and then it's going to loewr. Finally! I need a little Christmas, right this very minute if you please.

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!

2-12-2021 - 10:37 PM

Song of the day: A*Teens - For All That I Am

So finals are impending even more... ugh. At least I have holiday to look forward to! Speaking of holidays, a local business my dad works for had their Christmas tree lighting tonight, so we went. It was pretty uneventful, though the lights were pretty cool. And since it's been so damn warm (at least for the season), they hadn't turned off their fountain yet. Also, my mother and I were standing near the head weatherman at a local TV station, who's a bit of a local celebrity. And so I think it's safe to qualify him as a celebrity crush of mine. Seriously, oh my gosh, y'all.

Also, my precalc teacher assigned us a project today due before finals. It's pretty small, but still, a project is the last thing we need right now.. And it's not even in lieu of a final! Finals season is such a major bummer. Why must it impede on my enjoyment of the holiday season?

Also, I have to do a scene with one of my group of friends/frenemies (I forget what I've referred to them as here) for my acting class. He was absent yesterday (I think he was skipping, as he was in our class right before), and after he got done doing a worksheet we had to do yesterday, he and another member of "The Group" spent the rest of class reading lyrics by that rapper Megan the Stallion. My scene partner just didn't want to work. Oy. I don't have a grudge against him or anything, but yeah. That was also kind of a bummer.

Anyways, that's all I'm have to talk about for now, so I'll talk to you all later. Bye!
